New Series RMT Temperature Controller Effectively Doubles Zone Count Per Module in Runnerless Molding Applications

Athena Controls, Inc., a leading manufacturer of temperature and process controllers, has announced availability of their new Series RMT Controller for runnerless molding applications.

The Series RMT microprocessor-based, dual-zone CE compliant controller effectively doubles the zone count per module without doubling the cost.  Two easy-to-use operator interfaces, four LED displays and discrete indicators for heat output, alarm, degree F/C indications, manual, and closed loop mode are standard.

Additional features include Type J thermocouple acceptance, bumpless auto/manual transfer, a CompuStep® bake out feature to prevent moisture at startup, built-in loop break for open heater, reversed or shorted thermocouple, and preset alarms at 30ºF (17ºC).  Open thermocouple break protection with jumper-selectable shutdown or average power output, and a SafeChange™ “hot swap” feature allows safe removal and replacement of the module.
